The Centre for Energy Ethics is thrilled to announce that Dr Cornelia Helmcke will be staying on at the Centre as our Senior Policy Fellow. During this 12-month post, Cornelia will work closely with the core centre team to continue to develop the CEE’s policy engagement portfolio, take the lead on initiatives like the PEPtalk series, and facilitate knowledge transfer from the world-leading researchers in-and-around the Centre to Holyrood and Westminster.
Dr Helmcke joined the CEE in September 2021 during her tenure as Associate Lecturer in Sustainable Development. In 2023, Cornelia was announced as the second recipient of the CEE Postdoctoral Fellowship.
On her appointment, Cornelia reflected, “Policy engagement has become essential to my research focusing on net-zero conflicts in the Highlands and Islands; I am excited about the opportunity to develop and foster the Centre’s outreach and impact in support of building just transition pathways for Scotland and beyond.”
Cornelia will begin in this post on 1 December 2024.
