Inaugural CEE Artist-in-Residence Rebecca Sharp has announced her next project: Squid Complex: a commonplace of complicated loss.
The new collection will complete a trilogy with Sharp’s previous collections Long Field Loop (2024) and Rough Currency (2021), also published by Tapsalteerie. Following the verticality of Rough Currency (oil, economics, extraction) and the cyclical motifs of Long Field Loop, Squid Complex will present a hydropoetic horizontal and rhizomatic expansion. The collection will explore our various attachments to land, place, home, identity, each other, time, memory and other structures – in the hope of finding new expressions of recovery and change within times of humanitarian and ecological crisis.
Supported by Creative Scotland, the new full-length poetry collection is set to be published by Tapsalteerie with its launch event to be held in St Andrews in 2027. It will feature exciting creative collaborations and be supported by a series of events in 2026 and 2027 which will be announced in the near future.
