Two open academic positions are now available at UCL’s amazing Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering.
The first role is that of Lecturer in Building Performance Analysis. The post-holder will play a key role in current and future teaching and research efforts. The holder of this post will: 1. convene two modules with focus on: (a) integrated building design with focus on building services systems, (b) building performance analysis, (c) decarbonisation and net zero carbon engineering, and (d) building services engineering 2. strengthen IEDE’s research capacity in: (a) building performance data analytics, (b) building stock decarbonisation strategies including building services systems 3. to engage with relevant stakeholders including relevant government departments primarily the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

The second role is that of Lecturer (Teaching) in Environmental Monitoring & Measurements. The successful candidate will be appointed as the Deputy Director for IEDE HereEast Labs. The current Director is Dr Edward Barrett. In collaboration with IEDE experts, the successful candidate will: 1. develop and deliver a portfolio of demonstration lectures based on our 6 laboratories in Here East: (1) building services, (2) acoustics, (3) human environmental chamber, (4) material environmental chamber, (5) dark room, and (6) artificial sky (teaching role, 3 days a week) 2. support doctoral experimental design in HereEast (research and enterprise role, one day a week) 3. ensure that all the equipment based in HereEast is properly maintained (citizenship role, one day a week) A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
