The nonprofit organisation JustEnergy has launched a new podcast. Hosted by engineering professor and Executive Director of JustEnergy, Brian Thomas, ‘Electric Equity’ looks at energy poverty around the globe, explores how it limits people’s ability to flourish as human beings, and brings to light efforts to increase energy access. Fighting Energy Poverty is full of challenges: some are technical, some are cultural, some are financial, some are ethical. This podcast attempts to demystify energy and electricity and unpack the central role of energy access for international development and human flourishing. You will be introduced to people and organisations that are doing something about it and explore philosophical and ethical questions along the way.

Justice and Mercy Energy Services (JustEnergy) combats poverty and injustice by focusing on energy access. JustEnergy partners with other organisations that are already building the common good in their communities such as children’s homes, schools, medical clinics, and women’s shelters – and helps them choose, design, and install energy systems that empower their work.
The podcast is available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and other platforms. Show notes can be found at the JustEnergy website.
