The CEE is delighted to welcome Anna-Sophie Hobi back to St Andrews as a Visiting Scholar. Anna-Sophie, a PhD student at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, has been affiliated with the Centre since its launch in Feb 2021 and hopes to use her time in St Andrews to participate in the centre’ activities and exchange with other researchers in the writing phase of her PhD on battery Gigafactories.

“The Centre for Energy Ethics has been a great and supportive environment throughout my PhD.” said Anna-Sophie, “During my stay here, I hope to gain fresh insights and new perspectives on my thesis work. I always find motivation in discussing and chatting with other researchers with different disciplines or topics.”

“Moreover, I am keen to learn more about the Centre’s engagement with governments and industry both in the UK and in the EU. I find it really important to make research impactful outside of academia as well.”

During her time in St Andrews, Anna-Sophie will also be hosting an Energy Café in April on battery factories as sites of imagining desirable futures. Keep an eye on our newsletter or social media for more on that later this month.
