Biography

Riyoko Shibe is a PhD researcher at the University of Glasgow since 2022. Their project examines life, work and community in Grangemouth, a petrochemical and oil refining town in Scotland, from the 1950s to 2000s, through oral history and archive study. More broadly, Riyoko is interested in deindustrialisation, historical experiences of toxicity and noxiousness, and energy transition.
