This two-day event (April 20 – 21) brings together economic anthropologists examining the nexus of economics and morality, with the support of the JustRemit (Leiden University, NL) and Impact Hau (University of Bologna, IT) ERC projects.

The workshop aims to reconsider the relationship between morality and economy, relative to the timescapes of contemporary capitalism. Examining how crises transform economic moralities and their future-oriented narratives, we explore how these processes impact global inequalities.

As part of this workshop, you are invited to attend three public events:

1) 9:00 (CEST) Thursday, April 20:

An online keynote presentation by Dr. Deborah James (LSE), followed by commentary by Dr. Natascha van der Zwan (Leiden University) in person in Leiden (PDLC room 0A28).

2) 18:00 (CEST) Thursday, April 20:

An online round table with Dr. Bill Maurer (UC Irvine) and Dr. Caitlin Zaloom (NYU)
