The Centre for Energy Ethics is delighted to be able to announce that Dr Sean Field has been named our new Director of Policy. As the new Director of Policy, Sean will provide leadership on policy engagement and policy involvement for the research team at the Centre for Energy Ethics, liaising across sectors, and bridging the gaps between academia and policy-making.
On his appointment, Dr Field said, “I’m very excited to take up this new role. With researchers from across the University, the Centre is well positioned to take the lead in turning cutting-edge research into policy impact. Filling the void between the research and policy worlds is understood to be increasingly vital, especially as the Scotland, the UK, and world move toward Net Zero. I have been excited to help the Centre in this regard in my previous role, and look forward to leading a new exciting phase for the Centre.”
Sean has been a significant part of the Centre since its launch in 2021 as a postdoctoral research fellow with the Ethics of Oil research project. He has spear-headed CEE initiatives such as the Art of Energy, the Energy & Climate Finance Network and the Energy Cafe event series as well as being a regular contributor to The Energy Blog.
