Prof Kirsty Robertson from Western University (Canada) will be joining us in the new academic year as a Visiting Professor at the CEE through the University’s Senior Global Fellowship scheme. Kirsty is Professor of Contemporary Art, Director of Museum and Curatorial Studies, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Curating, and works on sustainable curating, plastics pollution, hands-on environmental pedagogy and much more. As a Visiting Professor, she will join us in-person for the month of May 2025, and virtually for the rest of the academic year.
“We are so excited for Kirsty to join us at the Centre,” said Director Mette High, “it is such a wonderful opportunity for our students and researchers to meet, share thoughts, and explore possibilities for collaboration with a scholar of Kirsty’s calibre.”

Established in 2020, the University of St Andrews Global Fellowship Scheme has provided prestigious awards to enable talented scholars from around the globe to spend up to a month at the University. Senior Global Fellows are established world leaders in their field, with an international reputation for research excellence and a considerable record of achievements, leadership and publications. During their stay, Senior Global Fellows are expected to embed themselves in the scholarly community at St Andrews, interacting with a wide range of staff and students, and participating in the scholarly activities of Schools, Centres, and Institutes. Kirsty will be hosting a hybrid public lecture and two smaller in-person workshops during semester two.
