The post-holder will take a leading role in the qualitative thematic analysis of the 80 interview transcripts generated through the energy access and gender interviews in this Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) funded project, in collaboration with partners involved. As such, they will become a key member of the authorship team for a journal article that will come from this analysis. Their insights will also be feeding into policy briefs, led on by local partners. Depending on timings and covid-19, there is also budget for them to attend one of the regional workshops in Nigeria or India. Applications close 30th November.

The University of Virginia is looking for an individual to fill a teaching position in the Spring Term (January through April 2021). While this is general position, they would value having instructors who can bring environmental perspectives to their curriculum. Please note that interested candidates should complete an application as soon as possible. Research Associate sought to join the project “Embodying Climate Change: Transdisciplinary Research on Urban Overheating”. They will be responsible for conducting ethnographic research in Madrid. The Sussex Energy Group, within the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex Business School, are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Energy Studies to work with Professor Benjamin Sovacool and teams on a range of newly funded projects, including CINTRAN – Carbon Intensive Regions in Transition (in a consortium led by Wupperthal Institute), JUSTNORTH – Toward just, equitable and sustainable Arctic economies, environments and societies (in a consortium led by the University of Uppsala), FAIR – Fuel and transport poverty in the UK’s energy, and IDRIC – Industrial Decarbonization Research and Innovation Centre.

The University of Edinburgh and Dr Mark Winskel have some residual funds on research award, funded by the Scottish Government as part of the ClimateXChange work programme. They are looking for an immediately available postdoc researcher to undertake a systematic evidence review on an energy and climate policy topic of relevance for the Scottish Government.

Networks, Territory and Transformation in the UK oil sector.’ Led by Professor Gavin Bridge, the project investigates the ongoing transformation of the UK’s strategic position within global oil networks.
