I also gratefully acknowledge the financial support received from the Centre for Cosmopolitan Studies, Department of Social Anthropology, University of St Andrews.

Since its inception in 2009, the Centre for Cosmopolitan Studies (CCS) has been a venue for understanding cosmopolitanism as a range of ideals diversely manifested in contemporary experience. The Centre convenes seminars and conferences, hosts visiting fellows, funds studentships and has its own annual publication.
