Purpose of the grant
The Centre for Energy Ethics (CEE) is now accepting applications for the CEE Student Society Grant Scheme.
Applications are welcome year-round to support the delivery of an event, activity or event series in the field of energy, climate change, climate action and/or ‘just transition’. Decisions will normally be made within two weeks of application.
The scheme is designed to support projects that:
- Increase scholarly, public, industry and/or policy understandings of and engagements with energy practices.
- Stimulate inclusive and nuanced discussion about energy research, and its implications for society.
Eligibility and Conditions:
- Awards are available to student societies registered at the University of St Andrews.
- Awards are available to cover events that relate to the field of energy, climate change, climate action and/or ‘just transition’.
- Applications must be submitted at least four weeks ahead of the proposed date of the event.
- Awards are up to £500 in value.
- Awards are tenable for up to 4 months.
- Awards will not be made retrospectively.
- Awards may be used to part-fund larger events.
- Events must publicly acknowledge the CEE funding.
- Event registrations must be hosted by the CEE.
- Applicants must submit a proforma event report within three months of the event to [email protected].

Eligible costs
Awards are provided to cover eligible expenses arising from a defined project. Funds can be used to cover the following costs:
- Venue hire and hospitality costs (excluding alcohol).
- Travel to the event venue.
- Marketing and promotion materials.
- Travel and accommodation for invited speakers (external to the University of St Andrews).
- Speaker fee (for speakers external to the University of St Andrews).
