PhD Candidate, School of Chemistry

Biography

Syed Ansar Ali Shah has completed MS Physics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan with a funded research work under the HEC Peridot Scholarship based in the Institute of Chemistry, Clermont-Ferrand (ICCF), France. His research was focused on the synthesis, structural & thermal investigations, and impact of surface fluorination on the cathode materials for Li-ion Batteries. Now, the overall aim of his PhD project is to synthesize novel, nanostructured materials using templating and other techniques, to characterize these fully and to evaluate them for potential applications in catalysis, photocatalysis and as a component in photovoltaic (PV) cells. This fully funded project is a collaboration between the University of St Andrews (UoSA) and London South Bank University (LSBU). The main idea of his research is to contribute towards the development of green and efficient sources of energy and to play his role in the best manner with the research community to tackle the global energy crisis and the global warming caused by CO2 emissions
