Biography

Carmen McLeod is Research Fellow, Responsible Research and Innovation, based in the University of Nottingham’s Synthetic Biology Research Centre. She is an anthropologist, with an interdisciplinary research background, who has a particular interest in applying ethnographic methods to investigate the conceptual and policy applications of a ‘Responsible Innovation’ framework within emerging technoscientific contexts. Carmen has published on science-society relations, transparency, and animal laboratory research; discourses of ‘responsibility’ in the governance of scientific research; and on gender, ethics and hunting.
