Hydrogen is emerging as important component of the future energy vector. Members of the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA) have been celebrating national and international successes in hydrogen development and deployment through their annual conference for the past 13 years.

This year the SHFCA2022 annual conference takes place on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th October

2022 as an in-person event at the prestigious McEwan Hall in Edinburgh. The Hydrogen Scotland conference programme on 20th  October brings together SHFCA members and guests with invited expert speakers who will highlight the steps needed to build the hydrogen economy across Scotland.

In partnership with the Hydrogen Accelerator, the Energy Technology Partnership and ESP, SHFCA are hosting a student poster competition as part of the conference.  Participating students will have the opportunity to win a free student place and the top three posters will receive cash prizes – 1st place £100 and 2nd and 3rd place £50 each.  The top three posters will be announced during the SHFCA2022 networking and awards event on the evening of Wednesday 19th October at the McEwan Hall.  The shortlist of the top ten posters will be announced on Monday 10th October for the free student places at the SHFCA2022 evening awards ceremony and conference. Competition Rules
This competition is open to all students from any Scottish or SHFCA member Further or Higher education institution.
Entries can address technical, economic, and social aspects of hydrogen and fuel cell development and deployment as part of a low carbon energy system.
All posters must be sized to A3, with text size no smaller than 10 pt in a standard font (Ariel, Times New Roman, Calibri etc).
Each participant can submit only 1 poster. Please ensure you include your institution name, your course and year of study with your submission.

Each entry must be submitted in pdf format by 3 pm on Friday 7th October 2022 to [email protected] and [email protected]

The announcement date of the posters shortlisted is Monday 10th October 2022

 The top three posters will be announced at the evening award ceremony at the McEwan Hall on Wednesday 19th October 2022.
