Are you passionate about reducing energy use and carbon emissions? The University of Liverpool is looking for a highly motivated individual for our Carbon and Energy Officer role who is eager to make an impact in a dynamic academic environment.
As part of a team dedicated to managing and controlling the University¿s financial expenditure and performance of energy, water and carbon emissions, you will take a lead role in monitoring and analysis, supporting compliance, and identifying opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency across the estate.
You will have responsibility for the collection, provision and communication of information relating to the University¿s consumption of energy and water, and support management of the team¿s extensive metering network. This includes handling meter exchanges, removals, planning upgrades, and facilitating compliance with our regulatory reporting commitments.
This role is expected to investigate and identify impactful opportunities for improving energy efficiency across our estate, helping to reduce energy demand and support the University¿s critical decarbonisation commitments. This will also involve working with the team to analyse the performance of the University’s three Energy Centres, where CHP gas engines are used to provide heat and power to a substantial network of buildings.
With significant sustainability commitments sitting across the University¿s strategic priorities, you will have a key role in provision of data and specialist advice to the Sustainability Team and collaborate on projects at team, departmental and institutional level.
This role can operate in a hybrid-working model, working from campus and/or remotely as appropriate, with flexibility to meet the demands of the team.
You should have degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience).
The post is a full-time permanent post.
