In October 2025, the Centre for Energy Ethics partnered with Greener Vision to produced an exhibition of The Tabula Project – a more-than-three-decade-long ongoing artistic project which draws inspiration from issues around the Climate Crisis and Energy Transitions.

The physical side of the exhibition was based at the St Andrews Botanic Gardens. There, artist and CEE affiliate Claire Haigh set up an in-person gallery and hosted walk-in ‘Socratic Dialogues’ – opportunities for students to come and discuss with her their feelings on the project and these major issues which will define much of their futures.

Alongside these in-person events, we also hosted three online Roundtable discussions based around the three main themes of the project. Examining Perceptions sought to explore misconceptions and preconceptions associated with climate and the energy transition. Clearing Obstructions looked to build on the first session, asking how we can remove these obstacles of approach and thought. Building a New Paradigm then sought to build back up from the previous two sessions, asking how can we achieve the radical transformation needed to decarbonise our lives. Speakers in these sessions ranged from local and national politicians, academics, industry insiders and climate/sustainability charity spokespeople alongside Centre for Energy Ethics members.

These Roundtables were initially set to be recorded, however, at the request of some of the invited speakers, recordings were not made. Nevertheless, for those who wish to get a taste of these sessions or revisit any of the ideas brought up within them, Claire Haigh has now published her official report on the Roundtable discussions. This 36-page report, which also includes a foreword from CEE Director Prof Mette High, highlights the main takeaways from an intense three days of discussion, provocation and Q&A sessions with an active online audience.

If you wish to engage further with The Tabula Project, the virtual gallery is still online and can be visited at your leisure. Claire has also published the first in a new series of blog posts – The Future We Want – over on the Greener Vision website. You can get in contact with Claire – details are on her CEE Personal Page.
