The first Energy Ethics retreat will take place 28-30 Oct 2016 at The Burn, a beautiful country house in the Scottish Highlands. The purpose of the retreat is to discuss, reflect and write on contributions to the Invited Special Issue of the peer-reviewed top-ranked journal Energy Research & Social Science. The preliminary title of the Special Issue is “Exploring the Anthropology of Energy: Ethnography, Energy and Ethics”. The retreat will be a great opportunity to identify and deepen the themes that cut across the individual contributions of the issue. With many people coming from afar, we are all very excited about the retreat and look forward to the calm focus that The Burn promises to offer.
