There are few better ways of understanding international affairs and global politics than putting yourself ‘in the shoes of world leaders’ – and few (if any) issues more critical than those of climate change.
As part of our preparations for the UN United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, the Centre for Energy Ethics & University of St Andrews’ Model United Nations Society invited students from across the University to take part in a Mock Cop event. The aim of the event was to provide students of all disciplines a flavour of what it would be like to be in the negotiated room in Glasgow.
The event took place on the 22nd October 2021 in the University’s Parliament Hall. It brought together 25 postgraduate and undergraduate students to propose, debate and agree critical resolutions on energy and climate change.
