Energy Cafe: Energy, Elites and Social Media

Anna Seeger, graduand of the CEE and University of St Andrews discusses Social Media as a contemporary spaces of Anthropology among the ‘Elites’.

Anna’s presentation will start by providing key findings on her research of ‘energy elites’ and energy transitions in Norway. She will demonstrate how strategically positioned industry players navigate the complexities of contemporary energy dilemmas.

The second part of Anna’s talk will explore how to communicate energy, sustainability, and climate matters to publics and laypersons via social media. After discussing the relevance of social media in contemporary energy transitions, Anna will share tips on how you too, can utilise online communication for your work, studies, and research.   

Anna completed her doctoral thesis in December 2022. She is an avid content creator on social media, discussing anthropology and sustainability related matters, with a growing following.

This will be a hybrid event with an in-person and online element. Anna will be presenting remotely.
