McGill are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the Anthropology for the Ecozoic (A4E) node of the interuniversity Leadership for the Ecozoic (L4E) initiative.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional early-career scholar with a PhD in anthropology or a related field who will conduct original, socioecologically framed and place-based projects with the potential to significantly transform fields of inquiry and modes of practice enabling mutually enhancing human-Earth relationships.

Research that crosscuts pertinent disciplines and fields (e.g. philosophy and ethics, anthropology, economics, law) is especially sought. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with L4E faculty in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University, which includes the Territories of Life initiatives of the Centre for Indigenous Conservation and Development Alternatives and the Critical Media Lab. We expect the Postdoctoral fellow to develop collaborations with McGill and University of Vermont (UVM)
scholars and students as well as with L4E’s wide network of external colleagues; and to participate in L4E activities such as courses and seminars, outreach and communications, retreats, meetings, and workshops.

We offer two years of an annual salary of 60,000CAD plus benefits and access to up to 5,000CAD for research activities.

Expected start date is fall 2024, or when a suitable candidate has been chosen.

The deadline to apply here is August 8th.
