SUMMARY:Ukraine: Energy in the Spotlight Revisited – What to do with Depletion and Energy Dependency?
DESCRIPTION:Join the us online and in-person for our final seminar of Ukraine: Energy in the Spotlight Revisited. \nRegister Here ( https://www.tickettailor.com/events/centreforenergyethics/1180378 )\nDuring our final session we will look at the future of the resources that are depleting, decarbonization, green solutions to the old energy problems via the world’s interconnectedness and interdependency through energy chains.\nWe will once again welcome our honorary speakers Prof. Margarita Balmaceda and Prof. Vlad Mykhnenko to share their insights into the changes that have taken place in the Ukrainian energy landscape in the past two years. Margarita Balmaceda is the Professor of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University, an Associate at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, and the author of The Politics of Energy Dependency: Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania Between Domestic Oligarchs and Russian Pressure (Toronto: U. of Toronto Press, 2013) among many others. Vlad Mykhnenko is the Associate Professor of Sustainiable Urban Development at the University of Oxford, specialising in geographical political economy, an expert advisor to initiatives, including Recovery in Ukraine and Mariupol Reborn, the author of The Political Economy of Post-Communism: The Donbas and Upper Silesia in Transition (2011) and many more.\nWe will also show a land art, Memory of the Black Cornflowers by Tetyana Pukhnavtseva. A citation from Tetyana’s upcoming exhibition at Art Svit gallery sums up our series’ finale:\n“to see the bare:\nblack earth which lives in constant fatigue\nbut continues to feed itself”\n– The Patch\n
