And what is it like to step into the heart of government? \nAt this event, the CEE’s Director of Policy, Sean Field, will share his experiences working at the UK’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. At DESNZ, Sean worked on the GBE analytical sponsorship team, contributed to energy policy, and led research on social co-benefits integration into social cost benefit analyses. In the process, he learned a lot about how energy and climate change policy is made and acted upon, including what works, what doesn’t work; and the thoughtful planning and coordination that goes into every step.\nRegister Now ( https://www.tickettailor.com/events/centreforenergyethics/2145299 )\n \nAbout Sean\nSean is the Director of Policy at the Centre for Energy Ethics and a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Social Anthropology.  His work explores issues of sustainability, energy, finance, ethics, climate change, sustainability, resource extraction, and transition. Since late-2018, Sean’s Energy Ethics research has focused on how financial professionals evaluate energy culminating in the publication of his recent monograph Carbon Capital ( https://energyethics.st-andrews.ac.uk/research-publication/carbon-capital-climate-change-and-the-ethics-of-oil-investing/ ). \nSean regularly contributes to local, national, and international discussions of energy, energy finance, and energy policy. His interviews, analysis and commentary have been featured by BBC Radio, The Associated Press, The Courier newspaper, The Sunday National newspaper, The Xinhua News Agency and have been reprinted by agencies such as The Washington Post.  Since late 2024, Sean has been seconded with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. \n
